The reason for yesterday night's network problems was apparently a very heavy DoS attack against other customers at our provider's site. The attacks were stopped before 23:00 UTC.
And it just goes on and on. Sigh. Well, this Dios is going to bed!
New outage from about 21:19 to 21:36, starting with increasing packet loss. Our hosting provider is looking into the problem.
There was a network outage from about 19:32 to 20:10 UTC, for unknown reasons. We were not the only ones caught by this.
The computer wouldn't stop crashing, and we were down until approximately 12:30 UTC today, when I got some new hardware up. Hopefully, the new hardware will prevent new crashes. I'm also compiling a new kernel to make use of the new CPU -- I hadn't anticipated switching CPU types -- so we'll be down briefly around 15:00 UTC.
The computer crashed sometime after midnight UTC. When I (Dios) got the chance to check on the computer, the power light was blinking, and the computer did not respond to the power button. The cause for the crash may have been a hardware failure or temporary power glitch. The server was back up again at 08:41.
